A human
being is
part of
the
whole
called
by us
universe,
a part
limited
in time
and
space.
We
experience
ourselves,
our
thoughts
and
feelings
as
something
separate
from the
rest. A
kind of
optical
delusion
of
consciousness.
This
delusion
is a
kind of
prison
for us,
restricting
us to
our
personal
desires
and to
affection
for a
few
persons
nearest
to us.
Our task
must be
to free
ourselves
from the
prison
by
widening
our
circle
of
compassion
to
embrace
all
living
creatures
and the
whole of
nature
in its
beauty.
The true
value of
a human
being is
determined
by the
measure
and the
sense in
which
they
have
obtained
liberation
from the
self. We
shall
require
a
substantially
new
manner
of
thinking
if
humanity
is to
survive.
(Albert
Einstein,
1954)
History
abundantly
shows
that
people's
views of
the
universe
are
bound up
with
their
views of
themselves
and of
their
society.
The
debate
in
cosmology
has
implications
far
beyond
the
realm of
science,
for it
is a
question
of how
truth is
known.
How
these
questions
are
answered
will
shape
not only
the
history
of
science,
but the
history
of
humanity.

Lerner,
1992)
On Life,
the
Universe
and
Everything
A Brief
Summary
of
Cosmology,
Infinite
Space
and
Human
Morality
Hi
Everyone,
For
those
visiting
this
website
for the
first
time we
realise
it may
seem a
bit odd
thinking
that you
are
actually
spatially
extended
structures
of space
that
extend
across
the
observable
universe
- the
discrete
and
separate
body is
an
illusion
of our
incomplete
senses.
But it
is
certainly
true, an
ancient
mystical
belief
that is
now
clearly
confirmed
by
modern
physics.
Thus a
correct
understanding
of the
Cosmos
is a
correct
understanding
of
ourselves.
We must
simply
gaze at
the
stars
and
consider
how we
can see
them to
realize
that we
must be
connected
to them
– that
we are a
part of
those
stars,
just as
those
stars
are a
part of
us!
'All
is One
and
Interconnected'
is an
ancient
wisdom
that is
at the
foundation
of both
metaphysics
and
philosophy.
For
thousands
of
years,
philosophers
and
mystics
have
known
that One
thing
must
exist
that is
common
to and
connects
the Many
things
within
the
Universe.
As
Leibniz
profoundly
says;
Reality
cannot
be found
except
in One
single
source,
because
of the
interconnection
of all
things
with one
another.
(Leibniz,
1670)
Significantly,
the
ancient
philosophers
did not
actually
know how
the
universe
was a
dynamic
unity,
what
matter
was, how
the
One
Thing
/
Brahman
caused
and
connected
the many
things.
The
Metaphysics
of Space
and the
Wave
Structure
of
Matter
shows
that we
can
understand
Reality
and the
interconnection
of all
things
from a
foundation
of
science
and
reason
rather
than
mysticism
and
intuition.
As
Leo
Tolstoy
writes,
the
foundation
for
morality
is
founded
on our
relationship
with the
universe;
What
am I? A
part of
the
infinite.
It is
indeed
in these
words
that the
whole
problem
lies. ..
True
religion
is that
relationship,
in
accordance
with
reason
and
knowledge,
which
man
establishes
with the
infinite
world
around
him, and
which
binds
his life
to that
infinity
and
guides
his
actions
.. and
leads to
the
practical
rules of
the law:
do to
others
as you
would
have
them do
unto
you.
(Tolstoy,
1882)
The
idea of
the
individual
being
connected
to the
cosmos
is
expressed
in the
Latin
root of
the word
religion,
religare
(to bind
strongly).
Confucianism,
Taoism,
Buddhism
and
ancient
Greek
Stoicism
are
religious
philosophies
which
emphasise
self
control,
contentment
and
living a
simple
virtuous
life in
harmony
with
Nature.
As
Zeno,
founder
of
Stoicism
expressed;
All
things
are
parts of
one
single
system,
which is
called
Nature;
the
individual
life is
good
when it
is in
harmony
with
Nature.
(Zeno)
The Wave
Structure
of
Matter
in Space
shows
that
Matter,
Space
and the
Universe
are one.
Matter,
existing
as
Spherical
Wave
Motions
of Space
which
determine
the size
of our
finite
spherical
observable
Universe
within
infinite
eternal
Space.
This
explains
how
Matter
interacts
with all
other
Matter
in the
Universe,
and thus
provides
the
logical
foundations
for the
fundamental
morality
of all
major
Religions,
'Do
unto
Others
as you
would
have
done
unto thy
Self.'
Once we
correctly
understand
the true
conception
of self
as
universe
then we
realise
that
this
morality
is
necessarily
true -
for the
other is
a part
of the
self.
Currently
the
world
suffers
great
conflicts,
not only
between
people,
but also
with the
destruction
of
Nature.
This
reflects
the
dominant
scientific
view
that
matter
is a
separate,
discrete
particle
(which
does not
explain
how
matter
interacts
with all
other
matter
in the
universe).
This
particle
conception
of
matter
has
prevented
us from
understanding
our true
connection
to the
universe
and the
resulting
moral
behaviours
which
this
would
then
determine.
The
following
quote
from
David
Bohm is
profound
important;
The
notion
that all
these
fragments
is
separately
existent
is
evidently
an
illusion,
and this
illusion
cannot
do other
than
lead to
endless
conflict
and
confusion.
Indeed,
the
attempt
to live
according
to the
notion
that the
fragments
are
really
separate
is, in
essence,
what has
led to
the
growing
series
of
extremely
urgent
crises
that is
confronting
us
today.
Thus, as
is now
well
known,
this way
of life
has
brought
about
pollution,
destruction
of the
balance
of
nature,
over-population,
world-wide
economic
and
political
disorder
and the
creation
of an
overall
environment
that is
neither
physically
nor
mentally
healthy
for most
of the
people
who live
in it.
Individually
there
has
developed
a
widespread
feeling
of
helplessness
and
despair,
in the
face of
what
seems to
be an
overwhelming
mass of
disparate
social
forces,
going
beyond
the
control
and even
the
comprehension
of the
human
beings
who are
caught
up in
it.
(David
Bohm,
Wholeness
and the
Implicate
Order,
1980)
Perhaps
we are
romantics,
but it
is our
hope
that in
the
future
Humanity
will
live by
the
truth,
with
greater
harmony
between
different
people,
their
religions
and
cultures,
and to
life in
all its
complex
beauty.
We hope
you read
on the
Wave
Structure
of
Matter
and
consider
your
connection
to the
cosmos
when you
look up
at our
most
beautiful
cosmos,
that
starry
night
sky.
Sincerely,
Geoff
Haselhurst
& Karene
Howie
Today,
another
scientific
revolution
is
beginning,
one that
may
change
our view
of the
cosmos
as
radically
as the
last.
And
today it
again
seems
likely
that the
effects
of this
revolution,
both
social
and
scientific,
will be
profound.
If the
universe
is truly
infinite
in time
and
space,
then the
implications
go well
beyond
cosmology
to our
view of
nature,
to
religion,
philosophy
and
society
as a
whole. (Eric
Lerner,
1991)
All
things
are
woven
together
and the
common
bond is
sacred,
and
scarcely
one
thing is
foreign
to
another,
for they
have
been
arranged
together
in their
places
and
together
make the
same
ordered
Universe.
For
there is
one
Universe
out of
all, one
God
through
all, one
substance
and one
law, one
common
Reason
of all
intelligent
creatures
and one
Truth.
Frequently
consider
the
connection
of all
things
in the
universe.
We
should
not say
‘I am an
Athenian’
or ‘I am
a Roman’
but ‘I
am a
citizen
of the
Universe.
(Marcus
Aurelius,
Meditations)
